Since 1998, Flooring Alternatives has been committed to providing high-quality materials and professional service to eco-conscious clients, locally and nationwide. We believe you shouldn’t have to sacrifice value to enjoy the benefits of environmentally friendly floors. Your floor is the largest piece of furniture in your home, after all, so our goal is that you continue to be pleased with the floor you choose for years to come. This is one way we define the word SUSTAINABLE.
With a background in architecture and construction, founder Mari Strain’s emphasis is on educating and guiding your technical and design considerations. She and the rest of our staff will consult with you throughout the decision-making and installation process. Local customers can get personal consultation at our recently-expanded Berkeley showroom and borrow samples to experience in their homes. Our nationwide customers can confer about different options over the phone or internet and be in contact with us through the entire process. We can also mail samples to anyone curious about how our different offerings would fit in his or her home ($10.00/envelope of 1-4 samples; $20.00/box of 4-10 samples; sample shipping fees refundable upon return receipt or with flooring purchase).
